Wearable Art & Adornments by Ebony T. Perry

About the Collection

My wearable art practice emerged from a desire to explore storytelling, symbolism, craftsmanship, and personal adornment through handcrafted objects.

On New Year's Day 2025, I began my silversmithing journey through hands-on training at The Hellbent Silversmith in Long Beach, California. What began as a curiosity quickly evolved into an extension of my broader multimedia art practice—one rooted in memory, nature, ritual, transformation, and creative exploration.

Drawing inspiration from symbols of love, creativity, and personal transformation, as well as native plants, oceanic forms, shells, folklore, ancestral memory, and the natural world, I create one-of-a-kind adornments that honor both traditional silversmithing techniques and contemporary artistic expression.

Throughout the collection, recurring motifs such as hearts, seashells, celestial forms, botanical elements, and carefully selected stones—including amethyst, moonstone, pearls, and other natural crystals—serve as vessels for storytelling and meaning. Sterling silver provides the foundation for many of these pieces, allowing organic textures, symbolic forms, and luminous materials to come together in wearable compositions that celebrate beauty, imagination, connection, and wonder.

Much like my work in painting, photography, film, poetry, ceramics, and mixed media, these wearable pieces are guided by symbolism, storytelling, and a fascination with the ways objects can hold memory and significance. Each piece is approached as a small sculpture—an opportunity to create something both functional and expressive, capable of accompanying its wearer through everyday life while carrying a sense of beauty, ritual, and personal connection.

A growing collection of original wearable artworks and adornments is currently in development.
